How to Create an Aromatherapy Roll On at the Right Dilution
Essential oils are especially excellent at supporting emotional health, easing aches, and supporting immune health. Essential oils can be used topically, diffused, and under the guidance of a clinical aromatherapist or qualified health professional internally.
Today on the Be Kekoa Apothecary Facebook page I shared how to create an aromatherapy roll on. I discussed dilutions in an earlier post and making a roll on application is along the same lines.
In today's live I featured the Be Tranquil blend but you can use an of Be Kekoa Apothecary's skin safe blends or essential oils or your own personal skin safe favorites.
Generally a roller ball is comprised of a glass tube, a plastic or stainless steel (my preference) ball, and cap. The roller generally holds 10 mls or 1/3 oz. The recipe I'll give today is enough for three 10 ml roll ons.
The Basic Method:
Add 30 mls (1 oz or 2 Tablespoons) of carrier oil such as jojoba or fractionated coconut oil to a small, sanitized glass or stainless steel mixing vessel ( I use a beaker)
** For a 1% dilution add 5-6 drops of essential oils or blend (ideal for children, sensitive skin, facial products, or the elderly)
** For a 2% dilution add 10-12 drops of essential oils or blend (ideal for massage, everyday use for adults)
** For a 3% dilution add 15-18 drops of essential oils or blend (ideal for acute issues or more intense aroma)
In today's live I created a relaxing roll on using Be Tranquil blend at a 3% dilution.
Be Tranquil Roll On Recipe
15-18 drops of Be Tranquil Blend
30 ml (1 oz or 2 tablespoons) of jojoba oil or fractionated coconut oil
three 10 ml roll on tubes
Add essential oil blend to carrier oil, mix and add to roll ons. A 30 ml or 1 oz mixture will be enough to fill three 10 ml or 1/3 oz roll ons. Bold items are available on the Be Kekoa Apothecary and Aromatherapy by Tricia website.
