First and foremost I hope and pray that you and yours are well and safe during this time as we deal with a novel corona virus. In addition to supporting our immune health, these times also call for supporting our mental and emotional health.
As the saying goes April showers brings May flowers -- here in Southern CA we don't get a lot of rain and there seem to be flowers in bloom year round and many of our trees tend to stay green. But there are tell tale signs of spring -- baby bunnies, trees in bloom, daffodils, and warmer weather.
For me, it's been a delight to get outside and enjoy the beauty of nature -- especially in wake of "shelter in place" orders due to the current corona virus situation.
Taking a walk or run outside has been a much needed break from what has become an overabundance of screen time with zoom calls, FaceTime, FaceBook live etc. It allows me to unplug and de-stress while still maintaining "social distance".
I'm not sure what the weather is like in your geographic location but hopefully you've found some ways to destress and get out safely despite any local restrictions that may be in place in your area and any change it has brought -- from having to homeschool children, to changes in your job, having to care for loved ones, or the like.
Of course this time has brought some bright spots amidst the stormy ones: more time with family, a general slowing down of things, more time for hobbies and spending time outside, and even more kindness and caring as we look our for friends and family, perhaps run errands for others, and a heightened importance on what really matters -- health and family.
Feel free to head over to the Be Kekoa Apothecary or Aromatherapy by Tricia FaceBook page and share how you are managing, de-stressing, or if you could use prayer or encouragement. And if you have questions about aromatherapy or essential oils feel free to contact me or set up consult.
For this month's recipe I want to share a blend that can be useful for de-stressing and uplifting mood. LabAroma analysis indicates that this blend supports the nervous system and acts to energize and balance. It certainly smells wonderful and uses essential oils that many have on hand or can easily find.
