Rosemary Essential Oil and Hair Growth.

I was talking with the CEO of AromOx today and he mentioned that they were having some awesome success with the aromatherapy & oxygen therapy healthy hair system -- but more on that another time. I mentioned some articles that reported rosemary essential oil as a promising alternative to hair growth.

Robert Tisserand reported that in a 2015 randomized trial for hair growth they compared using rosemary essential oil to a standard treatment. (1) The results? The rosemary group saw significantly better results: a greater increase in new hair growth and a significant decrease in hair loss with less side effects.

The effects are thought to be possibly due to the essential oil relaxing the muscles and promoting better blood flow to the follicles in addition to having anti-oxidant properties.

Another trial supports these results with a different kind of alopecia. The conclusions indicated that aromatherapy was safe and effective as an alopecia treatment. The results were significantly more effective than with carrier oil alone. (2)
